Be Who God Made You
Social media has turned us into people who long for likes and love from people we don’t even really know.
God made you for more than that.
God didn’t make us to long for love. He made us to love one another and live securely in His never-ending love.
God didn’t make us to need more likes. He made us to become more like Him.
God didn’t make us to be liked and loved on by the world. He made us to be different and shine brightly in a dark world.
God didn’t make us to compare with one another. God made us to have compassion on others.
God didn’t make us to flaunt our ideas and accomplishments. God made us to focus on Him and show others what He has done.
God didn’t make us to be full of ourselves. He made us to be filled with Him.
God made you for so much more than the world offers. If social media has you all misled and comparing, Take a break. Shut it down. Turn it off. Take a long hard look at yourself and remind yourself who God made you to be.
You were made for more than all these filters and followers.
Be you. Live like you are loved by God more than anything because you are.
How precious is your steadfast love, O God! The children of mankind take refuge in the shadow of your wings. Psalm 36:7 (ESV)
