A Heart Full of Joy
We stood for the invitation and I felt God nudging my heart. He said, “Let the boy get baptized.” Immediately following the simple nudge from God, my little boy looked up with sincere conviction and said, “I’m ready to get baptized.” It’s amazing how God can speak to each of us individually. Loneliness, Loss, and Love
Life has a way of making us think about what really matters most. As we gathered yesterday to practice for our annual Christmas concert, there was another gathering going on not far from us. A group, who had lost someone they loved dearly, gathered to remember their loved one. The chair once filled with life and love, now sits as a reminder of loss. ABC Thanksgiving Prayer
It’s easy to be thankful when life looks good and things are going smoothly. We often like to say we are “blessed” in those moments. When crisis hits or relationships crumble it’s much harder to offer up praise and thanksgiving. The blessings we experience in the good old days quickly become a faint memory of God’s grace and we tend to focus on the problem in front of us. We know the right things to say in these seasons: Keep your chin up. This won’t last forever. God is good all the time. These things aren’t bad to say. I
