Take the Leap! It’s worth it.
Just when you take a leap of faith the ground beneath becomes invisible. You have the choice to fly with arms open wide into the destiny God directed, or you can free fall into the depths of the unknowns that call your name.
Ever been there? You know you heard God. He told you to leap. So you did. With trembling hands and knees knocking you jumped with all your might.
And then you wait.
You expect results. And you look for answers. But just as soon as you take the plunge to move forward in faith, your sight feels blinded by the unknowns that lay ahead.
What do we do when we know we are headed in the right direction, but the circumstances aren’t lining up? Do we turn around and assume we must have heard God all wrong?
Do we give up and leave the work for someone else to mop up? Or do we soar arms wide open even though we don’t know where we will land?
I want to let you into a little part of my life. I’m in mid-air. Have you been there? I’m so tempted to put my arms down and give up. Don’t we all have those days? It seems too hard, too unpredictable, too complicated. But God told me to fly. He didn’t say exactly where or when I would land, but I know without a doubt that God gave me a message and with trembling arms lifted high I’m trusting.
In those moments when it’s so tempting to throw in the towel, that’s exactly the moment to fly higher, go farther, and stop looking around at the roadblocks.
And there will be roadblocks.
Any time God tells one of His children to do something for His glory, the enemy is sure to do all he can to compromise the mission. He uses the simple things. The things that make you think it’s more practical to give up. Situations that make you question the very words of God. Opposition that makes it seems so much easier to head a different direction.
Has God told you to fly?
Don’t let the enemy convince you to put your arms down. No matter how bad you tremble with fear of the unknown, or struggle with the very real possibility of failure. Press on. Fly higher. Not in a “I can do this myself” kind of flying, but a “I will rise up on eagles wings” flying.
That’s where I want to be. Flying in God’s power.
So spread your wings. Lift your arms and let God propel you in the direction He wants. It might not feel comfortable or easy. There is sure to be obstacles along the way. But God. His power is bigger. Trust His power. And fly.
“But they who wait for the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.” Isaiah 40:31
